Sportswear maker Nike entered the metaverse market with the purchase of NFT studio RTFKT. Information about the deal appeared on the company blog, as well as on the project’s Twitter account.
- How much Nike’s RTFKT costs is unknown. The parties did not disclose the terms of the agreement.
- Nike noted that the acquisition of RTFKT accelerated the company’s digital transformation. The acquisition of the NFT studio, according to representatives of the organization, will allow sporting goods manufacturers to improve the quality of customer service. In doing so, Nike will be able to use tools that work at the intersection of sport and creativity, and also include gaming components.
