The decision to implement the platform can be made by the owner due to the policy of the Central Bank.
Robokassa payment aggregator is up for sale. According to Kommersant, today’s business owners are looking for buyers among large financial institutions. Sources provide information about the sale of Robokassa to publications.
- According to the interlocutor of Kommersant, representatives of the payment aggregator offered his purchase to a number of large banks, including VTB, Alfa-Bank, Tinkoff-Bank and MTS-Bank. At the same time, sources draw attention to the fact that the circle of potential buyers of Robokassa can be much wider.
- Interlocutors of the publication note that the owner of the payment aggregator may make a decision to sell it due to the negative impact of the policies of the Bank of Russia on business. The fact is that regulators are battling so-called gray payments, some of which are carried out by platforms like Robokassa. A decrease in payment traffic in the indicated direction, according to sources, could lead to a decrease in the revenue of the payment aggregator.
- The Kommersant informant drew attention to the fact that the policies of the Bank of Russia forced platforms like Robokassa to focus on working on the legal payments market. Unfortunately for representatives of payment aggregators, such projects, as a rule, do not have enough resources to compete effectively with large banks in the direction indicated.
- A combination of factors is forcing platforms like Robokassa to look for options for business restructuring. An alternative to making adjustments to the workflow could be selling payment aggregators to major players.
Recall that in the summer of 2021, the Robokassa team helped the Bank of Russia analyze the risks of investing in cryptocurrencies.
